Steps for joining the Jefferson County IWLA
- Applicants must be present at a monthly regular memberhip meeting during the months of January through July. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month. The clubhouse is open to the public @ 6:00 p.m. on meeting nights. The board members meet at 6:30 p.m., prior to the monthly regular membership meeting. The monthly regular membership meeting begins at 7:30 pm
- Obtain an application and member release statement prior to 7:30 on monthy regular membership meeting nights from Kellie Harding (Membership Director). Applications must be picked up in person.
- Complete the application and member release statement, then return them to Kellie Harding.
- Applicant’s acceptance to the club will be voted on by members during the meeting.
- If accepted, applicants receive an orientation from Jeff Welch after the monthly regular membership meeting is adjourned.
- Applicants pay membership fee to Kellie Harding.
- The fee is $300, it includes initiation fee, chapter dues, national dues and state dues.
- The preferred payment method is by check or money order payable to Jefferson County IWLA
- The exact amount of cash is also accepted.
- Credit Card payments are NOT accepted.
- The new Member will receive a temporary membership card.
- A permanent card will be mailed after it is received from the National IWLA
- New Members must complete 8 hours of volunteer work within 1 year of joining the club.
- For example: Joined May 5, 2017 must complete by May 5, 2018
- If 8 hours are not completed the member will not be invited to renew at $100. If this occurs the only way to be a member would be to join again paying the $300 fee.
- New Members must attend a Range Officers training class before they can use any of the ranges.
- Range Officers classes are held the Saturday following the Tuesday that they join.

- Complete work cards located on the top of the cabinet next to the back door of the meeting room with the following information:
- Name
- Date Joined
- Brief Work Description
- Number of hours worked
- Mailing Address
- Phone Number
- Work coordinator’s signature
- Place the completed work card in the work hours’ box located on top of the cabinet next to back door of the meeting room. Please insure that a club officer signs off on the work card.
- The Membership Dues Recipient (Kellie Harding) will keep a tally of hours worked.
